CAPPO Membership Year Transition – Frequently Asked Questions

Why is CAPPO changing its membership year?
The CAPPO Board approved this change in August 2025 to better align with agency fiscal cycles, improve cash flow management, and reduce administrative workload around the annual conference and year-end activities.

What is the new membership cycle?
The new membership year will run from July 1 – June 30.
(Current cycle: March 1 – February 28.)

What happens to my current membership?
All memberships set to expire on February 28, 2026 will be automatically extended to June 30, 2026. This provides an additional four months of membership at no extra cost.

What about new members who join now?
Any new members who join between now and April 1, 2026 will also receive a membership expiration date of June 30, 2026, so everyone is on the same cycle.

When will renewal invoices be sent?
Renewal invoices will be sent 90 days in advance of the new cycle.

  • For the first new cycle (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027), invoices will be issued starting April 1, 2026.

How does this affect my budget planning?
Please plan accordingly in your agency budgets to account for the adjusted renewal timeline.
