Membership Types
Regular:
A person presently and actively engaged in public procurement in
California (employed by a public agency or bona fide non-profit
university within California and performing a job responsibility as a
procurement or supply chain professional).
a)
A public agency shall be considered: (i) a federal agency or office
within California; (ii) the State of California; (iii) a county, city,
city and county, special district, public school district, public
college or university, public authority, municipal corporation, or other
political subdivision within California.
b)
A bona fide non-profit university shall be defined as an institution of
higher education, as defined by 20 U.S. Code § 1001 (a), not conducted
for profit.
Retired:
a former Regular member that is retired and not actively seeking
employment that would qualify the member as a Regular member or create a
conflict of interest. Honorary: An Honorary Membership may be granted
to living Retired or former members of CAPPO or to living non-members
upon determination of the Board of Directors.
Student:
A college student majoring in procurement, business, economics, supply
chain management, or a related field at a college or university who does
not hold full-time employment.
Academic:
A professor or instructor at a public or bona fide non-profit
university, teaching in the areas of procurement, business, economics,
supply chain management, or a related field.
Associate:
a) A member in good standing who no longer meets the Regular membership requirements due to their current employment status; or
b)
A person presently and actively engaged in public procurement and
otherwise qualified for Regular membership, except that the public
agency or bona fide non-profit university is located outside the
boundaries of the State of California.
Membership Fees
Membership Year Update
CAPPO has approved a change to our membership year to better align with agency fiscal cycles. All current memberships will be extended to June 30, 2026 at no extra cost. Learn more about how this transition affects you in our Membership Year FAQ

Agency Billing: CAPPO
allows a membership paid by the agency to be retained by the agency.
During renewal time, agencies may request a statement to include the
membership for each of their representatives. To request an invoice
please email admin@cappo.org with a list of individuals to be included
on the statement, as well as the individual emails and titles.
CAPPO does not offer refunds on membership dues. Membership dues are not pro-rated. Membership runs from June 30 - July 1 each year.
