PROCUREMENT AMIDST A RECESSION
Monday, July 18, 2022
For many public procurement professionals, July marks the beginning of a new fiscal year. This year, that busy period involves added challenges like supply chain shortages, increasing cost of goods and services, and a potential looming recession (depending on who you’re listening to). As public procurement professionals, we’re being asked to perform miracles. We must become more strategic in our procurement decisions and be cost-conscious when selecting suppliers and making purchases --all while meeting the needs and expected outcomes requested by our customers. But we can’t feel crushed by this mounting pressure. This is an opportunity for the procurement community to come together and support each other. Ask yourself as a public procurement professional: - Are you looking for ways to help streamline your current job functions when it comes to the procurement process?
- Are you having difficulties verifying the submitted references of a supplier in response to a solicitation?
- Do you want to know more about a particular supplier before you hire them?
- Are you looking for additional information to help you be more strategic in your supplier selection process?
If you answered, “yes” to any of these questions, I could tell you that you’re not alone. But the good news is, there is a platform that allows us to help each other solve these problems. That platform is, Procurated a free website built specifically for public procurement professionals. Procurated allows you to source and evaluate suppliers using ratings and reviews from your peers locally and across the nation.
