Supplier Diversity in Public Procurement Gets a Major Boost

Govlia and ProcureNow integrate their platforms for a perfect mashup

Florida-based Govlia and California-based ProcureNow had their first introduction when Govlia Founder and CEO Shakeia Kegler and ProcureNow Chief Customer Officer Thao Hill, met due to their mutual participation in CivStart, an accelerator program specializing exclusively within the state & local government market.

After a bit of investigation into whether their shared passion to help governments was complimentary or competitive… the two companies decided that an integration powered by ProcureNow’s mission to make procurement more INTUITIVE and Govlia’s mission to make procurement more INCLUSIVE would add the most value to their customers and to the public procurement industry.  What they both agree on is that supplier access to government bid notifications should be FREE, at ALL levels, especially to those small, emerging disadvantaged businesses.

The partnership is proud to announce that as of today, April 15th, 2021, public bids that have been conceived, designed, approved, and released into the ProcureNow nationwide network of suppliers – will also be sent to the Live Feeds and inboxes of the Govlia nationwide network of small, disadvantaged suppliers, boosting the outreach of all ProcureNow customers’ RFPs and bids…. While helping historically underutilized businesses (HUB) across the country gain free access to more government bids and the ability to respond to them intuitively.

For ProcureNow customers, you’ll be able to see a boost in the number of MWSBE-classified businesses.

For Govlia customers and suppliers, you’ll be able to have easier access to more government bids that are of interest to you based on your category code selection:

The groundbreaking integration is unique because it shows that when you democratize bid notifications, and keep the monetary barrier of entry at zero,  bid networks can help each other.

Our beta testing customers include:

  • Omnitrans, CA
  • The City of Banning, CA
  • The City of Monterey, CA
  • The City of Norfolk, Virginia
  • Sacramento Area Council of Governments
  • The City of Lynnwood, Washington
  • The City of Edgewater, Florida
  • The City of Sierra Vista, Arizona
  • The Town of New Milford, CT

Once the testing phase is complete, any ProcureNow government agency will be able to turn this integration and added outreach capability on easily!

With this integration, comes proof that when you keep the vendor experience FREE, you can tear down the protective barriers that exists around your government bid when your notification network wants to charge for access.  The result is better, more successful partnerships between local governments and local, small, minority, disabled veteran, and women-owned businesses.
