Tyrome worked for the Santa Clara Valley Water District’s Purchasing department for 18 years. During this time, he was a primary buyer for goods and services to support the water utility infrastructure, maintenance and repair services for office facilities, inventory stock, and vehicles and equipment for Valley Water operations. He was active within the CAPPO Chapter and  was known for his hard work, positive attitude, and big smile. Those who worked with him saw his incredible work ethic and a commitment to ethical conduct.

Tyrome had a lifelong to commitment to growth and learning and took great pleasure in working to advance his broad knowledge base. He possessed Bachelors and Masters of Arts degrees, and was in the final stages of obtaining his PhD in Organizational Psychology. He enjoyed having deep, philosophical conversations on a wide range of topics, and applied his strong analytical and strategic mindset towards the execution of his daily work. As an eternal optimist, he always recognized the good in people and the opportunities to find blessings in everyday life -- a prime example of a positive influence for all his coworkers and family.

He was kind, considerate, and could always be depended upon by his coworkers.  His booming and infectious laughter brought joy to everyone around him, and his warm smile and genuine friendship was shared generously and equally. He was a positive force for all.  Tyrome is survived by Gloria, his wife of 39 years, his two children and two grandchildren.
