Bylaw Ballot – Open From 12/18/19 – 2/20/20


Dear CAPPO colleagues,


If you hold a regular, honorary or retired membership you should have received a ballot in your email on Wednesday, December 18.


If you have not received the email to vote - please either email or call 800-592-1970 to have the ballot link and your specific voting credentials resent to you.


The following are proposed amendments to our association by-laws, which are reviewed and updated periodically. Here are the specific articles and sections with the changes listed.  Please review the proposed changes and then cast your vote for or against during the online election period which will run from December 18, 2019 through February 2020.

Article IV

Section 4.5

Removing six-month grace period for delinquent memberships

Section 4.6

Clarifying membership transfer for agency-paid membership, and that individual-paid membership follows the member

Article VI

Section 6.1

(b) Removing the north/south requirement for electing the Secretary-Treasurer position

(f) Adding a five-year grace period for past presidents’ eligibility for executive board

Section 6.2.a

Added language allowing for additional three directors

Article VII

Section 7.1

Defining membership requirement to hold office on executive Board

Article VIII

Section 8.1

Defining membership requirement to hold office on Board

Article XII

Section 12.1

Shifting membership fees and assessments from being defined in by-laws to being established by board action

Section 12.2

Removing entirely, as it would be accounted for in the new section 12.1
