Scholarship

 

The Brian E. McGuire, C.P.M. Scholarship is awarded each year to a CAPPO member who is continuing their education at the college level.

: Each candidate must submit an application to the Scholarship Committee no later than October 20th of the current year. The applicant must also see that a recommendation form is completed by their supervisor and submitted by the October 20th deadline. : The Scholarship Committee shall review all applications and recommend their selection(s) to the CAPPO Board of Directors. The CAPPO Board shall make the final decision. The successful applicant will be notified in writing and the award will be presented at the Annual CAPPO Conference. : Scholarship applications will be judged on the following criteria:
  1. Commitment to public procurement
  2. Appropriateness and relevance of selected educational strategy
  3. Performance in procurement related field
: Applicants must be a CAPPO member in good standing for a minimum of two years prior to application, must be working full time in a procurement related position with average or above performance and be enrolled in an accredited academic institute. : The $1,000 scholarship is given to a selected candidate to assist with tuition, fees and/or books for academic courses associated with degree or certificate programs in Purchasing, Material Management, Business Administration or other purchasing related fields. Proof of enrollment at an accredited university or college, in a qualified degree or certificate program will be required.
