About the Program and Course Highlights:

This is a 60 minute RECORDED web-based training. This course will cover an overview of local preference programs, the benefits and challenges of local preference, details of what transpired in the case brought against the City of Tucson by The Goldwater Institute, and recommendations on how to research, analyze and prepare for handling local preference interests in your own community.

This session is geared toward a general audience and cover material relevant to both the practitioner, executive leadership and anyone interested in learning more about local preference programming.

 

Meet Your Instructor:  Theresa Webb, CPPO, C.P.M., CPPB, FCCM

Theresa Webb has 25+ years of experience in both the private and public sectors. Over her career, she has served in various capacities within the procurement profession in the retail, sporting goods, aerospace, chemical and governmental industries related to purchasing, warehousing, and logistics. Theresa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from St. Leo University, CPPO and CPPB certifications, a lifetime C.P.M. certification from ISM, and Florida FCCM certification. Theresa is a Purchasing Manager for the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority at Tampa International Airport and oversees the activities of the non-capital purchasing team as well as developing and conducting complex solicitations and innovating for change to streamline processes. She was the NIGP 2013 Buyer of the Year and is currently President of the Tampa Bay Area Chapter of NIGP which received the NIGP Mid-size Chapter of the Year award twice in the last four years and was a finalist in 2014. She has also served in various leadership roles for other organizations including Public Relations Chair for the Airport Purchasing Group, on the NIGP Research Committee, Secretary, Treasurer and VP for the Tampa Bay Area Chapter of NIGP, Chair of the Tampa Bay Area Purchasing Co-op, and President of the Savannah affiliate of ISM. She has led training, workshops, and webinars over the past 20 years for groups including NIGP, ISM, FAPPO, and GPAG, CAPPO.
