This session includes specific bid process language templates developed and approved by the County of Kern Counsel.

Carol Cox, C.P.M, Purchasing Manager, County of Kern

Carol has been in the purchasing field for more than 25 years. She has worked for the County of Kern in Purchasing for 20 years, 12 years as a Buyer, 6 years as a Supervising Buyer and the last 2 years as the County’s Purchasing Manager. Prior to working for the County she worked as a Buyer of fine jewelry – diamonds, gemstones, and fine gold for retail jewelry stores located in Los Angeles and San Francisco. She also worked as a Production Buyer for a wholesale international jewelry manufacturing company located in Los Angeles in the capacity of planning production of fine gold and diamond jewelry commodity acquisitions at factories in the U.S., Europe and South America. Carol has earned lifetime accreditations as a Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) and Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (A.P.P.) from the Institute for Supply Management, Inc. (ISM). Carol enjoys teaching seminars about procurement topics. Presentations are fun, personable with creative energy in delivering class materials and promoting discussions with memorable hands on exercises.
