Verne O. Gehringer Award
The highest form of recognition offered by CAPPO is the Verne O. Gehringer Award which was established in 1975. The purpose of the award is to recognize an active or retired member who demonstrates modest, unselfish, sincere and persistent efforts for the advancement of public purchasing and assists and guides members in their professional development. CAPPO named the award in honor of one of its most revered members, Verne O. Gehringer, C.P.M., whose leadership and involvement in the promotion of public purchasing were legendary.

CERTIFICATION INCENTIVE PROGRAM (C.P.M., CPPB, CPPO or CPSM)
CAPPO has a long history of supporting and encouraging members to obtain certification in the purchasing field. To further entice our members to achieve this valuable goal, CAPPO has instituted a Certification Incentive Program. For each recognized certification a member achieves, they may receive $100. The certification must have been obtained no more than six months prior to submitting the application and a copy of the certificate must accompany the application.
